Any brand of flour will work in most recipes, if you measure it correctly. Happy Baking!

I first figured out that not measuring your flour accurately could ruin a dough when I was making cheese straws from a very old Southern recipe. The butter to flour ratio is quite sensitive in certain recipes, and those recipes tend to not have very many ingredients. Nanny Edith's Sugar Cookies is one of those recipes. We don't mean to scare anyone off of making the sugar cookies, as they are terrific. But if you "scoop" the flour and it's too packed, the cookies just won't work. This video is only about 30 seconds, so it's a great "review" on measuring flour that even experienced bakers will enjoy!

Hey Alicia Thanks! I made Nanny Edith's Sugar Cookies and they were a bit dry. Now I know why! I had the same thing happen with some Chocolate chocolate chip cookies. Operator error as usual. Anna

These easy cookies are a blast to bake with kids. Even young tykes love to decorate them. And they survive quite well being shipped as treats for those special people not at home.
