Ever wonder what to do with over-ripe bananas? I like to freeze them to make smoothies. Sometimes I peel them and stick ‘em in a Ziplock, but sometimes I just stuff the whole (unpeeled) thing right into the freezer. It’s very quick to carve off the peel just before making the smoothies.
I also like to buy extra blueberries when they’re in season and cheap, and I freeze these, too. Again, just dump them into a Ziplock -- you can rinse them just before using.
The only caveat with using all-frozen fruit is to make sure you have enough liquid so as not to strain your blender’s motor. (I actually did destroy one blender before I figured this out!) Frozen strawberries, especially, are dangerous. So try to buy sliced frozen strawberries, or slice your own before you freeze them.
Our smoothie recipe is really easy and really good for you. It’s fairly flexible as well, as you can use any frozen fruits you happen to have on hand. Enjoy!

These smoothies aren't just for breakfast. Try whipping them up for afternoon snacks and after-exercise treats. You can feel good about serving them any time.

I lived in Italy for 3 years, and I love risotto but but never have been successful with the traditional recipes.

My toddler loves frozen blueberries so much that's there's no way to buy enough & make them last long enough for the smoothies! I'll have to set some aside next time, though - that recipe looks delicious.
