kitchen scoop website welcome

Welcome to Kitchen Scoop, our new blog site where we’ll be dishing on everything from what we’re cooking tonight to food trends, healthy eating updates and general food news. We invite you to join the conversation, and we hope you’ll click and comment so we’re not the only ones doing the talking.

Starting today, Kitchen Scoop replaces our old Desperation Dinners website. One of the biggest changes here is a vastly updated recipe “box” where you can easily search for your favorites once they’ve appeared on the site. We’ll feature recipes from the column, our books and some from you, our readers. You can expect to find new recipes every week and lots of photos.

Finally, in designing Kitchen Scoop we’ve come to think about the site in much the way we think about our kitchens themselves. The kitchen is the heart of our homes – it’s where stuff happens. It might be a leisurely discussion over a cup of coffee around the kitchen table or a quick “hi-how-ya-doing?” But when friends come over, we often never leave the kitchen. It’s where we work, supervise homework, do our thinking, feed our families, entertain, and often, nurture ourselves.

When you come to Kitchen Scoop, we want you to feel comfortable in the heart of our new virtual home. Take your shoes off, and pour a cup of coffee. Stay a while and chat. Tell us what’s on your mind and what you’re cooking. Let’s get started!
