Wish we could say our mistake was an April Fool's Joke, but alas, Marie-Jeanne of New Orleans corrects us on our Mardi Gras Faux Pas. Well, what better reason to share again our adaptation of the most amazing pancakes we've ever tasted!
From the Mail Bag:
Catching up on an e-mail backlog and just saw your post about pancakes on Fat Tuesday. As a native New Orleanian, I have to correct something you said.
Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday. But, Fat Tuesday is not the "last day of Mardi Gras." There is only one day for Mardi Gras, and that's on Tuesday. Mardi Gras is the last day of Carnival, the name for the season which begins on Twelfth Night, January 6.
I do enjoy your posts and have tried several of your recipes. Just be sure when you talk about pancakes on Shrove Tuesday next year that you get it right!
Proud to call New Orleans home
Thanks Marie-Jeanne for the factual correction. We do hope you enjoyed the Light and Fluffy Pancakes even though it's past Shrove Tuesday now.... Marie-Jeanne reads our newsletters which are sent directly to her email-box twice monthly. If you're not already on the newsletter list, click here to sign up. And as always, tell us what you are thinking in the comments section following this post or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Served with our Apple Compote or plain, these pancakes are so festive no one will realize that they’re also good for you.Read full recipe.

What you're saying..
I have all three of your cookbooks and have given them many times as gifts.
Last night I made the mini meatloaves – again -- such a time saver! Just getting dinner on the table some nights is such a challenge – particularly this time of year.
