Featured Recipe: Classic Custard Quiche Lorraine
Okay so this is our new most favorite quiche. I like to think we’ve “specialized” in quiche for decades, staying loyal through fads and phases and back around again. (Remember the Real Men Don’t Eat Quiche days? Well, our men ate it or else made a PBJ!)
However, we used to use quiche as a dumping ground for any and all bits of meat, cheese and veggies that needed a home before it was too late. This Classic Custard Quiche Lorraine is the opposite of that. You might just want to take our word for it, but if you need to hear more to convince you to try it…check out this blog that we posted back in May.
My prediction -- out here on a limb? You are so gonna thank us for this one! (At least I hope so!!)

I'm quite fond of breakfast for dinner, and quiche fits the bill nicely. Your latest quiche recipe will move to the front of the recipes-to-try once the daily temperatures dip below 75 degrees. That being said, I know my hubby isn't fond of breakfast for dinner. Of course, good man that he is, he won't say anything contrary, he'll simply smile, comment on the lovely dinner, and help himself to another slice of quiche.

Hi Samina, The bacon does supply quite a bit of the flavor. Is there a vegan bacon bits substitute? Smoked tofu? If you're going to leave it out entirely, add some garlic, more onion, more herbs and perhaps diced green or red bell pepper. It will be entirely different, but still delicious!

This quiche is tall and smooth, with little other than cheese, onions and a bit of bacon to distract from a custardy center rich with eggs and cream.

How would this recipe turn out without the bacon? Does it make that much of a difference? I've got a vegetarian in the household & like to be able to include her in the meals.
