2 whole wheat or white pita bread rounds, (each 7 to 8 inches wide)
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil*
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking oil spray and set aside.
Cut each pita round in half and using your fingers, separate each half into 2 thin pieces. Brush each side with the melted butter or olive oil and stack several on top of each other. Using a pizza cutter, slice each into 4 wedges. Place on baking sheet. Sprinkle cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning evenly over bread wedges and place pan in preheated oven. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.
Remove from oven and cool. Serve with dip or spread of choice.
