Old-Fashioned Confectioner’s Icing

Recipe Directions

1 1/4 cup confections sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons milk (low-fat is fine)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Food coloring of choice

Stir together the ingredients in a medium bowl. Adjust consistency by adding by additional confectioner’s sugar by tablespoon to thicken or milk by teaspoon to thin.

DIivide the icing into several bowls and using food coloring of choice, tint the icing to desired color. Icing can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Allow to come to room temperature before using to lightly ice (coat) cookies.
